Francesca Skelhorn -

Artist Statement

Born and raised in Kent, "The Garden of England," Francesca Skelhorn drew her earliest inspiration from her grandmother, who raised her from the age of three. This influence shaped her admiration for strong, unique women, a theme that runs through her work.

With a background in fashion, academia, and life coaching, Francesca has dedicated her career to empowering young talent, fostering confidence, and encouraging innovation. This commitment to growth and empowerment forms the heart of her art.

“My work explores the diversity of female faces through simple lines, patterns, and vibrant colors to convey the moods of my subjects. Creating these women on paper brings me empowerment, enlightenment, and joy—a feeling I hope to share with others. I enjoy working with pastels, ink, paint, and digital media, embracing the freedom these mediums offer. Each character, with her own name and personality, is distinguished by my signature style of elongated necks, yet remains unique.”

Francesca’s art focuses on the female form, especially faces, using patterns and colors to highlight each subject's personality and mood.

We’re All Water

Inspired by Yoko Ono’s song “We’re All Water,” this project celebrates inner and outer beauty, embracing the idea that “we’re all water from different rivers” and ultimately, we’re united in our shared humanity.

Each woman in her art embodies a unique personality and emotion. Francesca's work aims to help women connect with their voices, inner joy, and confidence. One collector described her art as bringing a sense of centeredness—a sentiment that deeply inspires her creative journey.
